During 2021 we continued cultivating a strong and healthy work environment to ensure employees remain engaged, and can thrive both individually and as a team. Since 2015, we have conducted an annual Employee Engagement Survey. 2021 marked record participation and favorable results in our survey, despite being in the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

TRAINED BETWEEN 2013-2021
Despegar represents one of Latin America's most important tech communities. As in many other regions, LatAm is experiencing a shortage of IT professionals. To overcome this challenge, Despegar created its own technology training program in 2013: Jóvenes de Alto Vuelo (High-Flying Youth).
Since then, we have trained high school graduates with a strong interest in technology. By sharing our in-house knowledge over the years, Despegar has helped increase student employability within the tech sector.
In 2021 we successfully modified the Program to a fully virtual environment. Our instructors who volunteer to be part of this attractive program are all members of our IT team and many graduated from it.
While interacting with the instructors, their assigned team and managers, students absorb our culture and get to know how we work at Despegar. From the beginning of the program, each student is assigned a tutor and actively participates in Team Building, Organization, Culture and Talent Development workshops.
Trainees were assigned to IT teams following program completion.
Since 2013 we have conducted 14 programs: 1 in La Plata, 12 in the City of Buenos Aires and 1 online version that included Uruguay.
